Creating a membership website for eLearning

E-learning has been on the rise in the last few years.  Mark Walker's Coolidge Hill Studio has expanded into this area with the development of markwalkerlessons.com, a drum set lesson website.  In February of this year, Mark reviewed online drum set lesson sites and saw a niche available for online Afro-Cuban and Latin drum set lessons.   Completing the lesson website was not something that was done overnight.  The process took about ten months of recording, editing, uploading, documenting, formatting and testing.  Overall, the process went very smoothly, with few technical glitches to manage.  Recording with three cameras, however, created volumes of files to keep track of and backup.  Time management was critical as recording and editing was scheduled around teaching, work, travel and family schedules.  With over 75 lessons completed and online we decided to open the site last week.   It was very exciting to see the first subscribers!  I'll be posting some more blogs in the next few weeks about creating the website and the topics that should consider before taking on this type of a project.
